Gov. Altgeld And Crafts
SPRINGFIKLD, Hls., July 11.- Governor Altgeld appeared very much annoyed when he learned that a majority of the Democrats oL the house voted for Crafts as their candidate for speaker, in spite of the governor' s expressed desire that Crafts be not nominated. In an Interview iaat night the governor charged Crafts with advocating measures not only vioious, but which had beconie known, whether rightfully or wrongfully, as "boodle" measurea. The governor talked in this etrain at great length. Crafts, when he heard of this interview, said he regards the course of the governor as most remarkable in endeavoring to oontrol the action of the cauous. As to the charges of boodllng against him, Crafts said he had no apologieg to make to any one for his oourse upon any public question or blll.
