Force Of Habit
The genial captain of a steamer plying on oue of our American rivers was appointed a vestryman in an Episcopal Chnrch in a city which lay at one end of his route. One day skortly afterward it was reported to hun, when on shore, that there was a leak in the chnrch. He was accustomed to promptness, and on receipt of the message he went to the qhurch, took a candle and started down into the cellar to find the leak, evidently thinking of the basement as the huil of the good ship Zion. The captain himself tells the story with mnch apparent enjoyment of its humor. -
