Henry Schieersteia and wife entertained friends Sunday. Herman Easton, of AnnArbor, visited friends here last week. Mrs. C. Gay has been entertaining guests the past few days. N. Greeu, of Jackson, is the guest of his brother here, B. Green. Miss Gertie Carpenter is home from Ana Arbor for the suminer. Mr. and Mrs. Gates were the guests of friends in Detroit last week. Miss Jessie Doane is attending the summer school at Ann Arbor. George Yokum, of Port Huron, is the guest of Toni James this week. . Willie M. Wiedmnn is home from Ann Arobr to spend the summer. Mis Myrta Bostwick is the guest of her sister in Detroit Mrs. Gilber. Dr. R. S. Copeland, of Bay City, visited his parents last Thursday. L.C.Rodinan will have charge of the Dexter house during their absence Will Carpenter was home from Ann Arbor with his family over Sunday. Henry Tappan and wife, of Yale, Mich., are the guests of friends here. D. T. J. Bitter, of Wadsworth, Ohio, is visting here for a few weeks. Dr. John Lee, of Grass Lake, spent severa! days of last week with his father. Wm.. Quigg audfamly have been entertaining friends here the past week. Miss Sarah Alley, of Kokomo, Ind., is visiting friends here for a few weeks. John Pidd and wife had a number of their friends dine with theni last Sunday. Bert Bailey and Mark Miller, of Milan, were with frieuds here last week. Henry Cobb, of Pinckney, was the guests of friends iu chis vicinity last Sunday. George Smith, of Fowlerville, was entertained by some friends of his here last week. Misses Mary and Dotha Lee have returned home after a week's camping at Base lake. Mr. and Mrs. J. W Bennett have gone to visit friends at Rome N. Y. , f or several weeks. James Ryan and family, of Wayne, have been the guests of friends here the past few days. Mr. and Mrs. Henry VanFleet, of Detroit, were the guests of friends in the village last Thursday. Miss Sarah Kellogg and Miss Nettie Hosler, of Grand Rapids was the guests of friends here the past week. Mrs. L. C. Phelps, of Chicago, who has been the guest of Mrs. D. Sackett returned to her home last Monday. Mr. au Mrs. Frank VanFleet, of Grand Rapids, were the guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. VanFleet. The Y. P. S. C. E. gave an ice cream social on the lawn at the residence of Dennis Warner last Saturday eveniug. Clarence McComb and family and Mrs. Thomas McCaul spent the Sabbath with John McCaul and family in Pinckney. Mr. and Mrs.G. S. Sill and daughter, Mrs. Zeigenfuss, of Alpena, and her son were entertained at M. E. Silla last week. Miss Hattie Green, of Three Oaks, has returned home after sëveral weeks visit with Miss Flora Bontwick who accompanied her home. John Ryan has gone to Dearborn to icr as foreman of a seotion on the Michgan Central there. Mr. Kinquest takes his place as foreman here. John Bross lias sold a fine boat to H. T. Phelps who will take it to Base lake. Mr. Phelps lias also purohased a cottage there óf Mrs. C. C. James. Mrs. Robert Erwin returned home i last Thnrsday eveniug af ter a two month's stay in Canada with her inotber who has been dangerously ill. N. Keitb ani danghter, Hattie, Mrs. Jay Keith Mrs. M. E. Sill and Miss Clara Phelps attended the Beal-Boylan wedding at Aun Arobr a week ago last Tuesday. Mrs. J. H. Evart, of Hamburg, died very saddenly of heart disease Monday, July 8, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Abert Valeutiue, where she was visiting.
