Mrs. Brow, of Hamburg, is the guest of Mrs. Eise Crarapton. Only a few drops of rain feil on Tuesday, not enough to lay the dust. Miss Lovejoy, of Detroit, is visiting with Mr. and Mrs. George Phelps. Rev. Mr. Bloomfield, of Dexter, is supplying the congregatioual church. There are an unusually large number of campers at Portage and Base lakes. Edward Giddons, of Detroit, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs.William Boyden. Mr. and Mrs. Austin Smith are rejoioing over the advent of a little daughter. The pastures are so poor that the farmers have had to take up their cows and feed them. The work of threshing was started on Tuesday. The wheat is turning out better than expected. William Boyden finished cuttng 100 acres of wheat on Tuesday. It is turnug out better thau expected. His hay erop is light. George Johnson, of State street, Ann 4rbor, lost a valuable horse on Suuday. The animal became mired at Portage jake. It was gotten out and when driven home it dropped dead near Wiliam Boyden's farm. The horse dropped dead as if shot.
