Cincinnati, O., July 18 - Two firemen were killed and eighteen injured at thu lire that stnrted in Seaman's tobáceo warehouse. Loss, $175,000, well insured. Folio wing are the dead: Captain Michael M. Healy, flre coinpany No. 29; Thomas W. Wiseby, pipeman company 8. Lieutenant F. B. Newman, of No. 29, was dangerously hurt; ïheodore SimpBon, bookkeeper, hip fracturad; Louis Buach, seronaut, skull fractured. The others were painfuliy injured, but are doing well. The fire started in the flve-story hay and feed warehouse of J. H. Herrcesch & Company, at Water and Walnut streets. It spread so as to threaten the entire square bounded by Walnut, Water, Vine and Front streets, and another alarm soon called out the whole flre department. The ñames at times oame near reaching the buildings aoross the streets. The warehouse went up like an explosión. Then the fire spread to NelBon, Morris & Company' s large atables, but their large warehouse stood flre proof. Tbe ndjoining commlssion and tobáceo company warehouses, however, went up like piles of kindling, causing such a conflagration as to threaten the north end of the suspension bridge. George O. Brown had 6,000 bags of peanuts in his warehouse. They burned like shavings and burned the stook, taking with it the large tobáceo warehouse of L. Seaman & Co., which was f uil of leaf tobáceo. All the streams of warer had no effect on the firo in these warehouses, and the flremen exerted themselves to save other buildings. The dense sinoke from the burning piles of tobáceo preventod the firemen from seeing their danger. When the walls of these warehouses feil the fire spread in all directions. At 2:30 the front street walls feil, and then was when tho flremen were killed.
