Omaha, Jul 18. - A committee repregeuting the settlers evloted on the reservation is In Omaha piirchusing 100 riflos with 100 loadad sholls for eaoh. They will be taken to Pender and Captain Beek and his armed Indinns surrounded and oaptured even if blood flows. Captain B'ck representa the Uaited States government in che lia-Ut. Hon. W. E. Peebles and G. S. Harris are the committee appointed by the evlcted farmers to purchase Winchesters and ammunition. Peebles said: "We are in Omaha for the purpose oí buying 100 Winchnster rifles and 10,000 cartridges. Tuesday Judge iiorris, of Ponoa, issuod an injunetion restraining Indian Agent Bock from ejectiug the settlers from the Winnebafro resei-vation. Beek has disregarded the terms of that injunction and has been and now is putting the settlers off the lands which they have leased from the Indians. Not a l.ittlo Bit YVarlike. "Wo are not a warlike people in Thurston county, but we propose to see that the law is obeyed. After the injunction was issued and noticas served upon Beek, instead of calling off his poliee he continued hls evictions, arresting and handcufflng the men like conviots. The woman und children his Indian poliee loaded into wagons and hauled to the boundary line of the reservation, whore they and their belongings were dumped in a heap. ïhe crops and personal belougings of the settlers have been left without protection to be destroyed by the herds of cattle that may range tnrough them. "Today a paper was prepared and oirculatcd among the business men and best cltizons of the town. When we lefc between üfty and sixty signaturas had been secured, each man pledging himsalf to the following: 'We, the undersigned oitizens and residents of Thurston eounty, agree to support the sheriff of the said Thurston oounty in exeouting the order of the state courts.' Each subscriber has agreed to supply himself with a Winchester rifle and 1U0 cartridges, all to be placed at the disposal of the sheriff of Thurston eounty." lt may be stated here that Captain Beek is acDiug with the full approval of the government at Washington.
