London, July 18. - The result of yesterday's polling leaves the different partiea in the following cundition: Conservativos, 230: Liberal Unionista, 39; total Unionísds, 269. Liberal, (55; McCarthyitos, 28; Parnellites, 6; Labor, 3; tota) opposition, 101. With iewer polls the Unionista gained fourteen seats, while the Liberáis did not gain a single seat, and In the bulk of cases their majorlties were generally reduced. T'he liberáis were al most wiped out in London. Out of sixty-one members from the metropolis flfty-three are Unionist and eight Liberáis. Conservativo majoríties have been heavy. The total Conservativo gains are 64, against 10 for the Libérala. The Conservativos have a majority of 60 in the new house of commons. The most exciting contest of the dáy was at West Leeds, where Rt. Hon. Herbert Gladstone retained hig seat by a greatly reduced majority, against Colonel North. Others eiected were Rt. Hon. George Curzon, Mr. Sidney C. Buxton and Rt. Hon. James Lowther. The Liberáis are anxious about New Castle. It is doubtful whether the Rt. Hon. John Morley will be eiected.
