Burglar Assaults A Woman

Atlantic City, N. J., July lo. - A burglar was discovered in the residence oí Isaac Davis, a Philadelphia cottager at 112 Souch North Carolina avenue, by Mis9 Loulsa G. Davis, a sister, who was visitlng at the house. When Miss Davis attempted to give the alarm she was murderously assaulted with an iron bar. Her skull was orushed in a terrible mamier. He then üed, but at the door he was met by Mr. ü-ivis. Haising his iron bludgeon he dealt Davis a blow. In spite of this Davis grappled with the murderous intruder and after a flerce struggle suoceeded in throwing hiin bodily down stairs. He was too weak to follow up his adversary, however, and the burglar escaped. Davis wlll probably recover, but the young lady will die.
