The special meeting of the commou couucil Tuesday evening deoided on purchasing the Jteam road roller and stone crusher, odIj Aid. Koch, Laubengayer and Coon voting no. All of the aldermen were present, Aid. Prettynian coming in late. He excused himself on the ground of taking care of a sick friend. He was very strenous in seeing tbat his vote was reeorded as yes on all the motions paso'ed before he arrived. Pres. Hiscock expiained the object of the meeting was to accept the machines. A commnnication was read from the board of public works in which the favorable report of Inspector Ward was given. Persoually the members of the board disclaimed suffioient knowledge on the subject to be able to recommend the pnrchase. The street cominittee made a favorable report and recommended the acceptance of the machines and their purebase. This was adoptded on motion of Aid. Brown, only Aid. Koch, Laubengayer and Coon voting no. Aid. Taylor thought an additional safeguard to cinch the pnrchase would be to pass a resolution of acceptance. City Attorney Kline advised such a resolution. No harni would be done. On motion of Aid. Taylor such resolutions were passed, Aid. Koch, Laubegayer and Coon voting no.
