On Saturday, between four and five o'clock, an alarm of flre was sounded. It was found to be Chas.Wilson & Son's saw mul and machinery. Itjis supposed to have been stmck by lightning, as there was a hard electric storm near that hour. Loss, $3,000. No insurance. Weather cooler. Vegetation looking fine in this vicinity since the recent showers. Mrs. W. H. Whitmarsh has returned from her Long Lake sojourn. Mrs. O. P. Newcornb and sou retarned Tuesday from a few weeks' visit in Sherwood, Ohio. Mrs. H. Vincent is on the sick list. Mr. E. Mead and f amily'and Mr. S. Egner and wife leave in a few days for a fishing trip to Zukey Lake. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Fuller have retrarned from their Aun Arbor sojourn and are at present the guests of Attorney and Mrs. G. B. Williams. Claude and Flossie Chapin have returned from their Scio visit. Mr. J. Campbell has returned from his prospecting tour. Mr. and Mrs. Mell Barnes and son leftfor Tecumseh Wednesday afternoon. H O. Wills and his gospel wagon are here and he has with him one of the finest male quartettes in the state. Mr. Willis calis large crowds to listen to speaking and music at all of his services. He will remain in Milan over Snnday Last Sunday he had an audience of 3;000 people. Dr. J. C. Harper is visiting his daughter in Detroit for a few weeks. Some of the Milan's most enterprising young men leave for an outing at Portage Lake in a few days More are lights are called for in Milan. Milan village is building a cistern that is to hold about 500 barrels of waier for fire protection. The M. E. donation was a success Tuesday 'evening for Rev. M. H. McMahon and family. Rev. M. H. McMahon and family returned Tuesday morning from their outing at Lake Side, Ohij. Prof.N.Babcock is quite ill in Milan. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson have returned from Zukey Lake. Prof. Koester and family have returned from Detroit. Mrs. J. Gauntlett is taking an outing at Biy View.
