The following resolutions were adopted by the Michigan Press Associatoin on the occasion oí the twentyseventh annual meeting at Benton 1 bor, Jnly 9 and 10, 1895: Resolved, That the graceful ' ity of Benton Harbor and St. Joseph, I Michigau's beautiful twin pit i es, has i made the twenty-seventh annual ! ing of tho Michigan Press Association one of the most delightful and pieasureable in its history. In sincere appreciation of the cordial welcoine extended, the Michigan Press Associatiou returns its thanks, and congratulates the twin cities upon theauspieious conditions that ;snrround them and which make oertain the contiuuance of that remarkable progress and prosperity which have characterized their recent past history. The Michigan Press Association will i hold in especial grateful rernembrance Mr. Frank R. Gilson, of Benton Harbor, one of onr esteemed members, whose zeal and energy have done so much to make this meeting a success, and the citizens of Benton Harbor for the courtesy of an enjoyable drive ; i Mrs. F. R. Gilson for the splendid j ception tendered ; the Grahain & Morton Transportation Co., the secretary and passenger agent of that company for transportation and other conrtesies ; the Commercial Clnb of St. Joseph ; the Hotel Benton for the use of its spacions, well aired and well lighted corridor in which onr sessions were held ; the St. Joseph and Benton Harbor street railway company for the nse of its lines. On the Lake Superior exoursion the following resolutions were pased : Whereas, The Michigan Press Association has enjoyed 'in its twenty-seventh annual meeting and tourjone of the most successful, delightful and instructive events in its history ; it has partaken of the hospitality of Benton Harbor; has viewed with pleasure the beanties of nature along the Mississippi river ; has witnessed the greatness and niatchless municipal advantages oi those wonderful commercial centers oí the great Northwest - St. Paal and Minneapolis; has seen the results of the magie enterprise of these two proud cities at the head of the big sweet water sea - Dnluth and Superor; has enjoyed a bracing, restful and recuperativo sail on the breast of the inland oceans, skirting along the picturesque uorth shore of Lake Superior, created by nature in her seeming angrier moods ; thence into the placid waters of St. Mary's river, entered through the wonderf ui locks and ship canal at Sault Ste Marie, and threaded by thaf great piece of commercial economy, Hay Lake Channel, ending a most beneficial outing of a week at Port Huron. Theref ore be it Resolved, That we tender grateful and appreciative acknowledgements to President Fred Slocum and Secretary Fred W. Sherman f or planning and earrying ont such satisfactory 'arrangements ; to Mr. and Mrs. Frank . R. 'Grilson and the citizens of Benton Harbor, for the hospitality extendedjat that be;autiful city; to the G-raham & Morton. Transportation Company for the courtesy of transportation from St. Joseph to Chicago ; to Mr. Harry Mercer and the officials of the Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul Raihvay com,païiy for the courtesy of trasportation from Chicago to St. Paul ; to Mr. H. P. ;Hall, Mr. C. P. Stine the St. Paul ■Press Club, the St. Paul Commercial Club, the Minneapolis Press Cltib the Minneapolis Commercial Club, Mr. Thomas Lowrey, the managers of the Metropolitan and Grand theaters at St. Pauljfor attentions gracefully shown j nd for making it possible to see the at tractions of Minneapolis and St. Paul and to sample their hospitality to the best advantage ; to the St. Paul & DuInth Railw ay Company for the courtesy of transportation from St. Paul to Duluth ; to the newspaper men and women of Duluth and Superior and the Commercial Clubs of those cities for a crrdifü wpleome extended and for the meaas of seeiag and hearing of the population and resources concentrated at that point as well as for kind attentions; to the North West Transportation Company, Limited, for reduced rates on the good ship Monarch, and to Capt. Edward Robertson, Purser James H. Ronan and Steward G-. E. Morrison, officers of the Monarch, for a degree of watchful care resultant in every comfort and enjoyment on ship board, and last to the citizens of Sault Ste. Marie for hospitalities extended, and especially to Hon. and Msr. Henry W. Seymour for a charming repception. Resolved, That copies of these resolutions be mailed by the Secretary to the members of the Michigan Press Association for publication in their respective papers and to those mentioned herein.
