"Some folks say, " said a fisherman, "that if a fish once gets into a pound net it never gets out until it is taken out, but as a matter of fact fish often get out of pound nets. It is common for sheepshead, bluefish, Spanish mackerel and shad to get out of them. I've been to a pound net on a Sunday and counted 285 bluefish, and when the net was hauled on Monday fouud only four or five. The fish get in, and if they find the opening and get started right they can get out. They follow one another like rt flock of sheep. ' '-
