Nashville, Tenn., Sept. 5.- The storm which visited Huntingdoii was tho severest in its history. lts course was northwest, and it was accompanied by torrents of raiu. The Xashvtlle, Chattanooga and St. Louis railway stauion was completely wreckod, with the exception of tho telegraph office, in which several persons wert seated. The debris from the freight departmcnt feil in such a shape as to protect Lt. The roof was blown from the mail) Southern Normal imiversity building. On the public square the large brick store houses occupied by W. H. Carter, grocer Hcad & Sous, dry goods; Karman & Lus ky, dry goods, and Scott & Bowles, cloth ing, were unroofed and their stocks dam aged. Other damage was done.
