First Election At Traverse City

Grand Rapijüs, Mich., Sept. 26.- A message was received here at 6:80 in the evening by Mayor Stebbins from Mayorelect Perry Hannah of Traverse City, bringing greetings and announoing the latter's entrance into the ranks as one of the cities of the state. The flrst election was held. The message was brought by bieycle relays, which left Traverse City at 5 o'clock in the morning and coverod 167 miles in thirteen and one-half hours. The riders encountered hard roads and head winds all the way. A telegram was sent back to Traverse City eongratulating her upon her new dignlty.
