St. Louis, Oct. 3.- A speoial to The Post-Dispatoh f rom Sprlngfield, Mo., says: George Hayes, better kuown as "Pea Ridge, ,' pleaded guilty of murder in the second degree in the oriminal court on a charge of murdering Deputy Shoriff J. H. Keiler, and was sentenced to the penitentiary for life. He had just been tried for murder in the aecond degree, the jury hanging.
