Jr'incKney is greatxy exoited over an attempt to wreek Geo. L. Hull's house wlth dynamite. Between the kitchen and honse proper there is a space of about eight inches, and sorne fiend exploded a cartridge there. The concusión broke every lamp chimney and half the crockery in the house. The explosión ooourred ear y in the evening while all the members of the family were in the house. The viotim of somebody's malevolent attempt to murder is the father in law of Chase Dow, of the firrn of Bailey & Dow, the Liberty Street gunsmiths. From Mr. Dow a few additional particulars were obtained. Mr. Huil is a man about 70 years of age. He and his family, consisting of his wife and two sons, together with the hiied man and hired girl, were in the sitting room at the time of the explosión last Thursday nigbt. Their escape from instant death was remarkable inasmnch as the kitohen was blown to smithereens. The sitting room was immediately next to the kitchen which was in a lean-to, and tha pantry was adjoining the sitting room. The dishes in the pantry were all thrown from the shelves and broken and the window glass in the two rooms was broken. Mr. Huil lived in Aun Arbor some 25 years ago and was in the grocery business under the firm name of McCormick & Huil, at aboni the point where John Burg's shoe store now is.
