Lost Control Of His Engine

Wilkesbarke, Pa., Oct. 17.- Engineer David Holliday lost control of his engine whüe lowering ton men into the empire slmft. The descending carrioge struck violently at the bottom of the shaft and the men were thrown about like straws. David Koderiok, miner and contractor of 80 years' experience, was hurt interually. He is not likely to recover. Engineer Davis was also soriously and perhaps fatally hurt. All the others were bruised and cut.
