A. F. Freeman, of lúauüiiester, was in the i-.ity this week. School Coniinissioner Wedemeyer is enjoying the autumn fine weather by visiting county schools. He was in Pittsfield the first of the week. John Wahr and Fred Euler have attended the session of the grand lodge I. O. O. F. at Lansing this week. Mrs. R. A. Beal is visiting friends in Kalamazoo. Mrs. W. H. Swartont, of Pinokney, has been the guest of Ann Arbor friends this week. Regent Cocker, of Adrián, carne up Wednesday to attend the regents' meeting, but returned home the same morniug'in 01 der to be in attendance upon the funeral of a brother in law. Begent Herman Kiefer.who attended the regents' meeting this week, has bnt ïately returned from a summer's trip to Europe. Mrs. Herman Easton has gone to Dexter to spend a rnonth with her father. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Krapf are guests of Lackson friends. Mr?. Walter L. Taylor and daughter Louise Frances are visiting relativos in New York City. Mrs. C. V. Hicks left Wednesday evening for Ann Arbor, which is to be her future home, as previously noted in the Press. - Oscoda Press. Mrs. Sarah Dubois, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. Louis Marz, for the past three months, has returned to Chicago. Miss Carrie Kapp, of Chicago, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. Louis Marz, of 40 Miller avenue, has returned home. Miss Mennie Steab, of Pittsfield, has left for Chicago. Miss Lizzie Hellstern, of Dundee, who has been visiting Miss Lottie Marz, has returned home. Nrs. George Moore, of Miller avenue, is visiting relatves in Lansing. Mss Cora Britten, of Jackson, visited friends in the city this week. Mr. and Mrs. Kempt' heard Mme. Melba's $5 notes in Detroit Monday. Mrs. J. A. Crawford and grandchildren, of Detroit, have spent a few days this week with Mrs. J. A. Wessinger. Prof. Lewis McLouth, president of the South Dakota agricultural college, visited the family of A. M. Doty over Sunday. Hoa. J. T. Jacobs has returned from Mohawk Lake, N. Y. , where he attended a session of the board of Indian commissioners. Mrs. Charles Shepard, of Toronto, Ont., has been visiting Mrs. J. H. Outting this week. Miss Anna Sherman, of Jackson, has visited friends in Ann Arbor and Dexter this week. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer E. Beal have begon housekeeping at 59 South División street. Rev. and Mrs. W. L. Tedrow returned Monday from attending a synod of southern Michigan and northern Indiana, held at Elkhart, Ind. L. H. Clement has gone to Chicago and northern Indiana on a business trip. Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Pinkham, of Belding, are honeymoon guests of Mr. and Mrs. C.A.Munia, of 108 East Huron street. Miss Louise Belser was a delégate to the annual convention of the Woman's Home and Foreign Missionary sooiety, held at Elkhart, Ind., this week. Melba's delightful warbling in Detroit Monday uight was ecstacy for the follovving Ann Arbor people : Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Kempf, Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Clement, Mrs. M. C. Peterson, Messrs. Weissler and F. E. Legg and he Misses Lucy K. Cole, Elsa Liebig, Franc C. Dorr and Caldwell. The Mystic Shriners, to the number of 20, will leave today for Grand Rapids to attend the dedication of the new Masonic temple. They will travel in the private .ar, "City of Ann Arbor." Will H. Neff, of Flint, a former college student, was in the city Tuesday on his way to Ft. Wayne. Mr. Neff was in the University at the time the winstrels flourished and in '91 was the celebrated "Cornell Mascotte" of the cork artists. J. Q. A. Sessions has moved his office to 2ö East Huron street. Richard Harding Davis' capital fiction "'The Ucfinished Story" will be recited at the first high school elocution recital the night of November lst. Misses Jennie and Kit Van Tuyle, of Clifton, spent Sunday with their cousin, Miss Luella Rogers, of Scio. G. E. Dibble, of East Washington street who travels for D. M. Ferry & Co., of Detroit, is expected home next week from a long trip. He will be accompanied soon by Mrs. Dibble on a trip east. Dr. Slaght, of Grand Blanc, Genesee county, was in the city yesterday, bringing a patiënt to the hospital. He graduated in the medical class of '87 The following Dexter people were in the city yesterday: Alfred Beal, John Costello, Mrs. Marcus Sill, Emanuel Jedele, Misses Nellie and Annie Connors, Mrs. David Cay, Missee Hattie Gage, Clara Phelps, Edith Wïlson and Mrs. Ben Arksey. Jacob Gall, of Kingsley, Kansas, is a guesfc of his brother, John G. Gall, of North Fifth avenue. Mrs. R. C. McAllaster returned home Wednesday from a visit with the family of Wm. Soadin, of Webster. Chas. Petrie was called to Lansing Wednesday by the death of his mother. Mr8. Andus Ross, of Marlette, spent the week with friends in the city, returning home yesterday. JE. B. Merritt, of Pontiac, will in future be manager of Goodspeed's shoe store. B. St. James was at Detroit yesterday on business. G. C. Liddell returned home yesterday forni a trip to St. Louis, Mo. Peter Cook, of Urania, was in the city yesterday. Prof. J. C. Knowlton has beeD ill several days this week and was not able to meet his classes is the law department until Thursday afternoon.
