Mrs.!W. J. Canfield died on Saturday of Jast week. Della, wife of George Cubitt, died Thursday, October 17, in the thirtysixth year of her age. The funeral services were held in the school house of District No. 3. Eev. Mr. Keith, of Saline, "officiated, and the remains were laid to rest in Pitfcsfleld cemetery. " Dry weather still continnng,the fields sown with wheat and rye present rather a barren appearance for this time of year. John Gage, who has charge of the grocery at the junction, has gone on a visit to friends at South Lyon and other points north and will probably be gone for several weeks. James Shoorter, of Lake Angnsta, Ionia connty, who was here to attend the funeral of his sister, Mrs. George Cubitt, retmrned home Tuesday. George Waidman has shipped from the jnnction a large amount of oanliflower and celery to Sfc. Louis and other points.
