A qtiaint o]d superstition as to the medicina] virtues of "June water" still obtains in Hingbam andother oíd towns Jl Massachusetts. It must be caught 'mi the first shower that falla after 12 o'lock en the night of May 31. An oíd lady of Hiugham tells a writer, Wfaci sends an account of "June water" to :he Boston Transcript, that it is bottled and used for sick folks mostly. "Yon oughtn't to give 'em medicine in ordinary water, didn't youknow? Why, I've :iad my sou's wife send up f rom Boston 'or a bottle or two when the boys was sick. Then if I feel as if I can sparo it I use it for preserves. They'd never spoil done in June water if you'd kep' 'em 100 years. Why, thereain't a speck or a mite of dirt in it. It's real different Erom other water when you come to look."
