Civil Service Examination

The civil service commissiou at Washington has ordered that au examinatiou be held in this city on Saturday, Dec. 7, 1895, coinmencing at 9 o'clock a. m., for the grades of clerk and carrier iu the city postoffloe. Only citizens of the United States can be examined. The age limitations are as lollows: For carrier, notunder21 nor over 40; for all other positions, not under 18 years. No appliations will be accepted for this examination unless filed with the uudersigned iu complete form, on the pro per blank, before the honr of closing business on Nov. 18. The civil service commission takes this opportunity of stating that the ex aminations are open to all rcputable citizens who may desire to enter the postal service, without regard to their Dolitical uffiliation. All such citizeus whether demacrat or republicau, or aeither.are invited to apply. They shall be examined, graded and certifier, with 3utire impartí? lity,and wholly without regard to their politica! views, or to auy :onsideration save their efficiency, as shown by the grade they obtain in th examination.
