The civil service oomruission it Washington has ordered that an examination be held in this city on Saturday, Dec. 7, 1895, cornmenoing at 9 o'olock a m.f for the grades of clevk and carrier in the city postoffice. Only citizeus of the United States can be examined. The age limitations are as iollows : Por carrier, uot under 21 nor over 40; for all other positions, not nnder 18 years. No appliations will be accepted for this exarnination unless filed with the nadersigued in complete forin, on the proper blank, bpfore the hour of closing business on Nov. 18. The civil service connnission takes this opportunity of stating that the examinations are open to all rcputable citizens who may desire to enter the postal service, without regard to their political kffiliation. All such citizens, whether democrat or repnblican, or neither.areinvited to apply. They shall be examined, graded and certiflei1, with entire impartí? lity, and wholly without regard to their political views, or to any consideration save their efficiency, as shown by the grade they obtain in the examination.
