Wootten, the magnificent country house of the late George W. Ohilds, is to be torn down. Such is the intention of its owner, Qeorge W. ChiJds ürexel, who iutends to erect on its site a larger and Eouch more magnificent structnre. This was the favorite residence of the late philanthropist, and it was there that he dispensed nis superb hospitality to tho salt cf the eurth. In that house, it is safe to say, more people of renowu have been eutertained than in any other private residence in the United S(ates. I The house itself is a splendid creation of the architect's genius. Alliedin style to the country habitations of the nobility of Englaud, its snrroundings of lawn and garden aud farm are in full accord.
