He is studyiug for a M. D. Mr and Mrs. Dnston D. Morrice rettirned last week. John Pardee returned frnin Hillsdale last Saturday. What might have been a serious fire bappened at the home of Wrn. Bowers. On Sunday evoning Miss Alice Bowers retired as usual with a warm briok to keep her company, bnt shortly au intense heat was feit and on looking it ■was fonnd the brick had set tbe bedding on fire. The lady's cries brought a brother wbo sncceeded in extiufruishing the fire. The damage was the ruining of tho bedding. William Walker, who went south a few weeks agn, has purchased a farm in Mississippi. He says one can buy good farming land from $2 to $3 per acre. Mrs. Wm. Wolff is visiting her parents this week.
