Philadblphia, Jan. 28.- Clnyton C. Oüllins, a motorman, met wlth a horrible death Tuesday af tornooit as the res uit of a singular accident, and hls car, losing its guiding hand, ran for half a mile without control, endangering the livea of a score of passengere. While Collins' car was deBceDding a steep grade one of the gates on the front platform becaine loosened and he leaned over the car side to fasten it. The trolley and f eed wires on this part of the line are carried on poles planted between the tracks with a clearance of hardly twelve inches between the poles and passing cars. Collins leaned out toward the other track and almost inBtantly orashed against one of the poles. Stunned by the blow he feil upon the gato and hts head rcceived a crashiní? blow as each post was passeJ, spattering his blood aloug the side of the car and leaving a horrible trail in its path.
