SoĆ¼th Charleston, O., Jan. 23.- The engino on Panhandle passenger train No. 31 exploded a mile eaat of here "Wednesday, kill ing the engineor and flrenian and wreoking the whole train. Mr. Senwartz, chief clerk to John V. Miller, of the P., C. and St. L. R. B., atates that one postal clerk, name unknown, was injured sufflciently to require a doctor. The flreman, Georgo Watera, was killed in the wreek. The engineer, Clark A. Trimble, got out of the wreek, walked back and talked to the conductor, but soon after the two separated the engineer feil dead. The postal caris a wreek; so is a coach and eombination car. The six who were slightly injured were in the coach.
