Concerning these cases Dr. Brewer says: "I dow commeuced feeding (do not langb) peanuts. One would tbink tbis a very indigestible diot, but they craved thera, and it has always beeii roy policy to find out what my patients deaire to eat, and nnless it is too unreasouable I humor them. Both youns; ladies hae become quite plump, and after a year's inbalation (of viuegar fumes) have ceased coughiug, aud I pronouuced theni -well. The peanut was long known as an excellent fat producer, and much more agreeable tban rancid shark oil that oftentime3 is sold for cod liver oil.
