Saginaw, Mioh., Jan. 30. - The war which Rev. Mr. Knight declared upon Bordwell's varioty show at this place several weeks ago was ronowecl with vigor by the authoritifis at midnight Tuosday night. Oflicers raided the place and arrosted seven performers charged with violating the theatre ordinance, which requires all traveling corapanies to have a license. It wa3 the most realistic event ever represented upon the local stage. The last "turn" had been completed and the whole company were grouped before the footlights for the grand finale, when flve large policemen emerged from the wings and before the astonished performers could grasp the situation they were on their way to pólice headquarters. The audience, thinking the prooeeding was a part of the progratnme, was at flrst inclined to applaud this startling climax, but when a voice from the gallory shouted "Pólice!" general confusión prevailedand everybody scrambled for the exits.
