It is of great importance that onr yonng people learn to govern themselves. To do this it is not euough to be outwardly correct in behavior in compariy, not euough to observe (he conventional rules of society. One must know thoroughly what is true and right. This oomes on ly f rom careful study of God 's word. Then one must persistently bring thought and actionand feeling intoconformity with that standard of excellence. It is not enough to correct a wayward passion after mischief has been wrought. The undisciplined forcea of mind and spirit and body must be trained into right ways, and the highest and most worthy aims must be followed till the crude and unformed powers take on streugth and form and harden into permanence. Then rightdoing becomes easy because it is natural and the free exDression.of inner life.
