Albert Carpenter and wife are spending the winter with Mr. Sly and fainilj at North Lake. James Quinn and wife, of Pettysviile. spent the Sabbath with friends ,u Ibis viüage. Mrs. H. C. Gregory called on Ann Arbor fri nds one day last week. Mr. Benedict bas roturned from Ilillsdale. John Fratt, si, and wife, were at the coiinty seat Tuesday. Mr. Reason gave one of his fine phonograph eoncerts at the Lavy school house one night the past week. Mis. A Taylor, who bas been quite sien, is slowly recovering. It is hoped she wiU soon be able to be out. Mr. Huskinson and lady friend, of Elartland, were guests of some of their friends over Sunday. Frank Oollins has returned to his bome in Fowlerville aftel1 a years stay in tbis vieinity. Miss Nellie Newkirk and friend were entertained by their friends in the country Saturday and Sunday. Cards are out announcing the Leap Year dance for Feb. 14 at the opera house given by the bachelor fprls of this village. A good time is looked for. John Gallagher and wife entertain ed a number of their society friends at pedio Monday eveuing. Mr. Storey spent the Sabbath with Ann Arbor relatives. Miss Clara Schmidt commenced teaching in the Gallagher district near ludson, last Monday. Miss Lee was an Ann Arbor visitor 3e flrst of the week. Mr. Hartsuff, of Unadilla, was a leasant caller Monday. B. Lynch and family, of Pinckney, rere guests of her sister, Mis. F. javey, Sunday last. Mr. Jones made his many Ann Ai )or friends a visit the latter part of ie week returning home Monday. Mr. Porter, of Flushing. tnd sister, f Ann Arbor, were here to attend the uneral of their brother C.arence on Monday. Mr. Lathrop made a trip to the uniersity city recently. Miss Svveetman, of Hudson, has one to Pincbney to visit her sister nd friends. Mrs. E. M. Fohey and daughter, of livingston county, visited her sister ecently. Mr. Clark, of Hamburg, was on our treets Saturday. Miss Walsh,of Dexter township, bas jone to visit her sister and friends in lie west. Mr. Wheeler, of Putnam, was in own Wednesday. Quite a number in and around this illage are having a tussle with the grip. Messrs. Lennon and friends, of _,enox, passed thrjugh here on ïuesay on their way to Sylvan.
