An expert telegrapher says, "Between New York and Pbiladelphia, over a copper wire weighing 800 pounds fco the mile, 8,000 words per minute can be recorded, and with a copper wire of 850 pounds to the inile 1,000 worda per minute can be carried frotn New York to Chicago."
