Mrs. Eliza S. Sinclair, widow of the late William S. Sinclair, died in Detroit yesterday morning froni the effects of a stroke of paralysis suffered last Friday afternoon. The funeral services will be held in Detroit tuniorrow af ternoon, at twQ o'clock, the following gentlemen aoting as pall bearers : Thomas W. Palmer, Bobert E. Frazer, S. M. Cutoheon, William A. Moore, James T. Sterling and Ford Starring. Mrs. Sinclair was 76 years of age and was bom in Conneciout, and came to Ann Arbor with her annt and sisters at an early day. Sbe was twice inarried, her first busband being Charles Bull.andher second husband being William M. Sinclair, for many years the owner of Sinclair's mi]lá in this city. They resided on Huron street and kept open house entertaining all the distinguished men who visited this city at that time. As the Free Press this morning stated : more prominent and distinguished people were entertaiuedin those days at the Sinclair mansion than at any residence in Michgan or the west. Mr. Sinclair flnally sold his proper ty and moved to Chicago where he engaged in unfortunates peou ations and lost his property,sl'ortly af erwards dying of a broken heart. Mrs. Sinclair or for a number of years has made her home in Detroit. She was a woman of unusual brightness of intellect and was known as a writer of both prose and poetry. Her surviving brotber and sisters are John T. Swathel and Mrs. Sarah C.Beakes andMrs.Fannie Hubbard, of this oity and Mrs. H. W. Wait, of Rahway, N. J.
