A youug lady of Chicago, while sojoiirning in Egypt last winter, seoured some of the fainons philter used by the ladies of the kbedive's harem for the oomplexion, and said to be the most wonderful oosmetic of the world. Instead of nsing it herself she gave it to a friend who was a cheinist and had it analyzed. It turned out to be nothing more or less thaii a tiucture of benzoin, a little castor oil and a few drops of attar of rose. While it is not a cure all for facial disfigurements the chemist says it is abont the most sensible preparation for the skiu he has ever enconntered.
