My individual testimony is infinitesimal as compared with the testimony of generations of public observers, of statesmen, of statisticians, of scientific and religions teachers and thinkers that tliere is no crime produciug agency that anywhere approximates the liqnor traffic in its dreadful efficacy. I am not a Prohibitionist, nor a Puritan, nor a member of a church, but no man with eyes in his head and with the least particle of heart or conscience oan fail to realizethe danger and handicap that intemperance is to onr Anglo-Saxon civilization, especially when it does its work on onr nervous American organizations.
