In reviewing the Sonnets of Shakespeare Tuesday evening he took occasion to treat Shakespeare as a man, as it is only by these sonuets that we are able to learn auytbiDg of his inner emotious and feeliDgs - his inner joys and 8orrows, which make tip the real man, all other evidences being ntterly lost. These sonnets picture the emot ions and contritions of the great poet as truly and faithfully as do the psalms of David, he oharaoter of the anoientking.
