Three clandestino weddings have come to light duuring the past week, all the parties towhich, are wellknown studente. The first was that of Stnart H. Perry, lit '94, law '96, of Pontiac, and Miss Mande Elaine Caldwell, lit '96, of Fremont, Ohio. The couple made a secret trip into West Virginia last October and were there married. Returning to Ann Arbor, they deoided to oonceal the faot of their wedding until both should have graduated in June, but rumors about college forceö thé announeeniont to be made. The Laoond couple were Warren H. Lewis, a gradúate student and assistant in the morphological laboratory, from Oak Park, 111., and Miss Eula J. Waters, lit '97, of Chicago. A few weeks since Mr. Lewis suddenly abandoned nis position and college work and left the city. Miss Waters aoeornpanied hint, and on the class book, Mr. Lewis marked opposite the ladies' name "Passed" and in parenthesis, "Mrs. W. H. Lewis." Investigation showed that the rnarriage had taken place sorae time since. A third surprise carne iu the announcement of the wedding of Jay W. Spear, engineer '99, of M"arquette, and Miss Mary J. Smith, lit '99, who lives here with her mother, Mrs. Jane Smith, at 6 N. División st. The two were married while the grand opera at Detroit some time since.
