Detroit. April 30.- After a tremendous amount of lobbying throughout the morning the only apparent result of which was varying predictions in which sil ver and gold rúen both claimed control, the Democratie state convention was callod to order at 3:45 Wednesday afternoon. After the open ing prayer Alfred J. Murphy of Detroit, temporary chairmafl of tho conyention, was conducted to the platform and rocoived with applause. By a large majority the conveution voted to fefer all resolutions to the resolutlons committee without debate. The roll of congressional districts was called and each delegation nominated members of the committees on credentials, order of business and resolutions. The conyention then adjourned until 2:30 and thü committees were called into session iinmediately. s The caueusos of tho delegates to the state Democratie conyention for election of delegates to the national convention from oaoh congressional district were held Wednesday morning and resulted in a decided victory for the administration, or sound money men, who captured the E'irst, Fourth, Saventh, Eighth, Ninth, Eleventh and Twelfth, and one delégate in the Second. The silver men carried the Third, Sixth and Tenth, and one from Seoond. The committee on resolutions stands soven for gold and five for silver.
