The postoffice department has issued instrnctions to the postmaster at Chi3ago to pay do more money orders that uiay be presented by "The Monon Seed □o.," condemning the concern as fraudulent. The Monon Seed Co. has been advertising very exteusively thronghont this state of late. The adpertisements read that the company will give pri zes f or the largest miniber of svords made f rom the rnotto, "The Monon seeds grow. " Tbe advertisement was inserted in two or three of the Ann Arbor papers and a mimber of lists of words were sent to the company by people in the city. After some time had elapsed each one sending in a list got word that pending the determination of who should get the big prizes, the f company had decided to give one of three neighborhood prizes tó the person sending in the longest list from this section. Two of these prizes were a diamond ring and a silver tea set. Eaoh person was told that they had won this prize and that tbey conld obtain it by sending for $2.75 worth of bulbs to the Monon Seed Co. Those wbo sent in their cash received in retnrn a lot of almost worth less bulbs and equally worthless jewelry. One ring received by a lady was a staan cbild's ring with an almost ïinnoticeable speek of some glittering substance in it. They were at the same time informed that they were entitled to a second prize which would be forwarded to them by sending for some more bulbs. Postmaster Beakes is interested in finding out how many neighborhood Drizes have been received in this tioD, to the end that the cotnpany niay ae prosecuted for itsswindle. He therefore requests that anyone who has received these bulbs and offers will commanicate with him.
