Erie, Pa., May 14.- With the address oí welcome by Miss Elizabeth Pollook of Erie the General Missionary society of the United Presbytorian ohurch opened here Tuesday night. One hundred and seventy delegates were present. Mrs. Arney S. Biddle of Jersey City, N. J., flrst vtce president, responded on behalf of offleer; and delegates. Othcr mattors were slEipIy routine and consisted of the vosponses in behalf of foreign niissionaries by Mrs. Adlia Brown Ashenhuast, and on behalf of home missions by Mrs. Minnic H. Speer of Chicago. The president, Jean S. Sands, in her address, spoke of the cew woman. Thursday reports will be made froni all officers.
