St. Louis, May 81. - Ex-Congressman Eichard P. Bland, Missomi's candidate for the nomination for president of the United States at the hands of the Democratie party, has arrived in St. Louis. Mr. Bland spoke confldently of the political outlook as regards free coinage. "The people, he said, "are tired of bouds, and free coinage offers them the only legitímate relief. The administration's policy means more bonds; the Republican party's return to power means more taxation. "It mnst be either bonds or taxation, and the peeple are taxed almost to death already. For this reason the free coinage of silver, which is the only safeguard against the continuance of hard times, is toeing demandad more and more every day. I am satisfled that two-thirds of the people of this country want free coinage. If the gold standard is adopted as part of the St. Louis platform by the Republiean party, you will seo a big revolt among the Republicana even of this state. Thero are indications of this alreaHy."
