Regent George A. Farr delivered the Memorial Day address at the Michigan Agricultural College, Lansing. Dr. and Mrs. A. B. Prescott very pleaasantly entertained the '96 and '97 pbarmical students on Tuesday e veiling. Ralph Farnum, lit :98, is getting up the Comtuencement Annual for 1896. It will contain the usual matter found within its covers. Fred L. Ingraham, who recently won the oratorical prize at Chicago, has been offered a chair iu the Normal school faculty at Ypsilanti. Dr. P. C. Freer and assistant had their photographs taken Monday afternoon sitting on the south steps of the chernical laboratory building. At the annual commencement of the University of Nashville last week the trustees conferred the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws upon Prof. I. N. DemmoD. The third triennial reunión of the law class of '87 will occur at Haugsterfer'3, Wednesday evening, June 24. A large attendance is expected. The committee on arragements consists of John V. Sheehau, Tnomas D. Kearney and Fred W. Job. The examinations in the literary department will begin nest Friday, June 12. "The same schedale of examinations as last semester, will be used with the exception that the examinations schednled for the Friday of examiuation week will be held Friday, June 12. The committee appointed to consider the advisability of arranging the law aud literary courses so that a student eau finish in both departments in six years has doue uothing as yet. It is expected that sorae deflnite action will be taken within the next ten daye. The Alpha Nu is preparing toend up the year with a fitting program, and a "June Festival" will be held tomorrow evening in Alpha Nu hall. The prominent musicians of Aun Arbor and of the university will particípate and a suitable literary program will be giveu. A moveineut is again ou foot to combine the Palladium and Castalian aud the lit class of '97 has appoiuted Messrs. Giilett, Paul, Wiley, Hill and Rich as a committee to confer with a fratArnity committee on the question. The fraternity committee is composed of F. W. B. Coleman, Psi Upsilon; O. L. Spaulding, Beta Theta Pi; S. C. Tremble, Zeta Psi. Prizes were awarded the students presenting the best sets of drawings in pathology at the close of the last leoture in pathology in the medical department Tuesday mornng. Carlin Phillips, '97, was awarded flrst prize of 10;W. A. Spitzley, '97, was awarded the secoad prize of $6. Miss Susan Anderson, '97, J. R. Kingsley, '97, and A. J. Elliot, '97 homeop., received honorable mention. Mr. H. S. Jennings, who was for three years assistaut in the Zoological Laboratory nnder Professor Eeighard. has just passed the examinatiou for the dootor's degree at Harvard. He bas been awarded the first Walker prize by the Boston Society of Natural History aud has been appointed to a Parker fellowship by Harvard University. The fellowship euables him to spend two years in study abroad.
