The Elks' excursión to Derroit Thursday of last week was a hnmmer from the word "go". It arrived in the city of the straits at 10:30 a. ru., and from that time until it left in the evening it was one round of fun and jollity for all concemed. The procession after the arrival of the train with its sour tempered jackass and snow white oilly goat, ealithuinpians, etc, was immense. The ball games at Beuuett Park after dinner, together with the exliibition of kicking against the umpire given by the donkey, the side show and the toy balloon race, were laughable in the extreme. For the ball games the Detroit and Ann Arbor lodges each had four teams. which had paired off to play an inniug apiece. Clay Greene and Walter Ross were umpires. The first game was beween the Ann Arbor "Cover Seed Champions'' and the Detroit "Wheelers" - score 3 to 1 in favor of the "Wheelers. " The second game, the "Rialto Sluggers, " of Ann Arbor, lost to the Detroit "Reubens, " soore 9 to 2. The "Weary Willies, " of Ann Arbor, contested the third with the Detroit "Dudes," but lost by the score of 10 to 5. The last game was between the tough young men of Ann Arbor "The1 Boiler Avenue Terriërs'" and the "All Nations" crowd, of Detroit. The core was 4 to 4. Detroit thus won the series by the soore of 26 to 12. s Fully1 2,000 people witnessed the ames and sports.
