Miss Emma Beck is visiting frieuris in Detroit. John Wagner is making a short visit with fieuds in Detroit. Miss Mabel Donovan, of Lansing, is visiting friends in the city. W. N. Brown and family are spending the sunirner at Elk Lake. Miss Mattie Bowdish is spending a week in Chicago with her sister. W. G. Palmer aad Ralph Miller went to Chicago, Friday night on business. Arthur Brown arrived home from a visit in Northern Minnesota, Friday. Eugene Huss, of Akron, Ohio, is visiting friends here for a few weeks. Prof. and Mrs. M. L. D'Ooge are in Toronto, Ont., on a two weeks' visit. John Kearney and Fred Maulbetsch spent the Fourth with friends at Star Island. Dr. and Mrs. Boy S. Copeland left on Tuesday for a three months' visit to Europe. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Clark have gone to Wequetonsing to spend the summer. Mrs. T. W. Mingay retnrued home from a two weeks' stay in Flint, on Wednesday. Miss Lou Irwin, of Grand Rapids, is visiting Mr. and Mrs. A. T. White, 18 E. Liberty st. ' Dr. Wessinger and his little Jaughter drove to Howell Wednesday. tThey will return Monday. Mrs. Anna Warden has gone to Ishpeming to visit her son, Dr. Cari Warden, medio '94. Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Phillips went to Bay View yesterday to be absent about three weeks. Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Cadieux have been visiting in Detroit and Port Huron for a few days.. Mrs. Herman Krapf and son Ed. are visitiag friends iu Owosso and other points in that vicinity. Fred J. Dansingbnrg and A. A. Pearson returned Tuesday evening from a trip to Mackinac Island. Airs. Charles LeSenr, of Toledo, O., has been the guest of her sister, Mrs. O. B. Davison the pást week. Miss Lisia Van Valkenburg has gone to New York state to spend the vaeation with relativas and friends. Harry W. Clark, of Detroit, visitad his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Clark, on the ï'ourth and over Sunday. W. W. Watts went to Plint Monday evening and witnessed the raees iu thac city, Tuesday and Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. J. S. McGuire and son, of Dnrand, are visiting Hugh McGuire, sr. , and farnily, of N. Main st. Mr. and Mrs. N. J. Kyer and Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Stimson are away on a week's trip to Mackinao and the Soo. Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Watts left for Cleveland, O., last evening for a week's visit with "Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Gasser. Mr. and Mrs. O. J. Warner and a party of iriends are at Independence Lake for a few days camping and fishing. Stephen V. Graham, of Cassopolis, au ensign in tbe U. S. Navy, is the guest of Rev. W. W. Miss Lizzie Dowdigan is visiting the brother, Dr. John Dowdigan, of Owosso, for a few days. July 23 she will leave for Boulder, Colo. , for her health. The Misses Lou Bank and Carrie Weller, of Jacksoa, spent Sunday with Miss Anna Wesoh, of VV. Second st. They made tbe trip on their bicycles in fonr hours. J. A. C. Hildner will have charge of the Y. M. C. A. men's meeting at 2 :45 o'olook next Sunday. The speaker will be McClellau H. Jlogk. All men are invited. Prof. Henry S.
