Detroit, July 15. - Mayor Pingree's friends Monday captured fourteen out of the twenty-three delegates to the Republican state convenfcion in Lenawee county, and they are highly delighted over the outcome, as this was geuerally regarded a turning point. It is conceded, even by the mayor's enemies, that he will carry the "Washtenaw county delegation, and if he does the Pingree boom will have a start away beyond all records. Lenawee has been considered for a long time as the property of the McMillan clique, and no one supposed that it would go for Piugree. Albert Pack, who is managing the Pingree campaign, telegraphed from Alpena that Moutmorency had elected a solid Pingree delegation. This gives eighteeu counties pledged to Pingree, flrst, last and all the time. They are Alger, Antrim, Arenac, Charlevoix, Emmot, Gladwin, Iosco, Lake, Luce, Mackinac, Manistee, Meoosta, Rosoommon, Shiawassee and Wexford. Wlth Lenawoe and the two counties given above Pingree has a working majority of all the delegates electa! up to the present time, and with Wayne's ninety-seven solid, which heis sure to get, has 150 votes. The shibboleth of the Pingree crowd now is that the mayor is the only Republican who ean be elected in free silver Michigan. If the Republlcans do not nomínate him the Demócrata will take him up with a rush if he will accept.
