Frankfort, Ky., July 22.- The severest rainstorm known in years was that of Monday night. ïhe Gainey bridge, 200 feet long on the Louisville and Nashville rallroad was wastied away, stopping traffic on this branch of the rood. Cumvay's mili and houses, on Benson creek, wero swèpt away. People coming into town fromevery dlreotloa Tuesday brtng newa of disaster from the heavy rain. Section Bosa Blue reportad that he was unable to get across the creek owing to the bridge lieins washed away. Parties living on the other side ui' the creek threw a rock ncross with card tied to it on whieh was writti'n: "Bradley, wife and flve childivn washed away and drowned. Mrs, Bryant, toll gate keeper, wldow, three ohildre, washed away and drowned. Dan Moore, late candidate for county judge, missing." Bridges on the short line are washcd away. Trains are running by the Southern and via La Grange to Cinciunati. High water prevenís investigation further up than the bridge. It is believed more livea are lost. Four pike bridges leading out are washed away, cutting off access.
