O. E. Jones is visiting Detroit friends. -„Claud Cbapin visited Ann [Arbor Monday. Born, July 26, a son to Mr. and Mrs. Swinerton. J. H. Ford has returned from bis western tonr. H. Sill has the briok fmnt to his new store completed. E. Gregory, of Ann Arbor, visited Milán the last of the week. Dr. Harper talks of pnting np a small house on his lot on W. Main st. Mrs. H. M. Burt and faroily have moved back to Milán from Detroit. Mrs. Wheaton, of Chicago, was the guest of Mrs. G. R. Williams Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Ingersoll have moved into Mrs. Wallace's house on County st. Dr. Pyle has a fine new brick barn on his lot oa the south side of Main st. Prof. and Mrs. C. M. Fuller.of Mooreville, visited Milan friends Friday and Saturday. Rev. J. G. Halaplian, of the U. of M., preaohed at the M. E. church Sanday morning and evening. Geo. Minto is progressing flnely with bis business block, corner of Main and Tol en sts. Rev. J. P. Hutchinson preached two very interesting sermons at the Presbyterian churoh Sunday. Miss Iva Lockwood left for Detroit Tuesday morning to visit friends for a few weeks. The Milan Cornet Band is practioing for the grand tournament at Tecumseh next week. Mrs. Chas. Gaimtlett and Cecil are contemplating starting on a visiting tour for a few days. A number of Milanites are anticipaing takiug in the Wild West show at Ann Arbor, Aug. 3. E. L. Killan, of Kalamazoo College, is filling the pulpit at the Baptist ohurch for the present. Editor and Mrs A. B. Smith left Saturday afternoon for a six weeks' outing with friends in Darand, Farwell and Bay View. Mrs. J. Gallagher, who wasjthe guest of Mrs. Debenham last week, returned to her home at South Bend, Ind., the first of the week. Friday, Messrs. Ford, Gauntlett and Hack went to Adrián to play croquet. They report a jolly time, and say the games were about even. H. C. Markharn, of Ann Arbor, was the guest of Attorney and Mrs. G. R. Williams. He carne down to see about organizing a summer art school. Dr. J. R. Kingsley, one of Milan's enterprisiug young men, has a positiou as assistanc to Dr. E. O. Bennett, at the Wayne county iusaue asylum aud poor house. Raymond Barnes, of Chicago, who aas been the guest of his aunt, Mis. Hinkley for a couple of weeks, left for Belleville Saturday morning, where he will visit his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Sooce. Married - Richards-Loveland. At the rióme of the bride's parents Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Loveland, July 22, Mr. H. Sebert Richards, to Mies Graoe Loveland, both of York. Rev. B. Smits, of Ypsilanti, officiated. Mrs. Joe Gauntlett had a birthday not long since. How old? Guess.
