The immense arnount of water that has fallen this year, in conjunction with the heavy growth of weeds and wild rice in the Hurón river which prevenís the water from flowing away, has resulted in the chain of lakes that includes Zukey, Strawberry, Island, Base aud other lr'ies being the highest at this time of year that any of their frequenters eau reccollect. Boat houses aud docks which ordinarily are free of water are covered with it now, the marshes are all passable to boats of light draugbt and the wagon road at Hamburg Jnuctiou is covered with water two feet deep in some places so that it is a coruparatively easy matter to cross from one lake to the other. The deep water bas also had au appreciable effect on the fishiiig and catches of big fish are tbe exception these days as they do not bite very readily the lakes being so full of feed.
