Miss Jessie Green has gone to Pinckney to stay this winter. " The picnic from South Lyon, Friday, was quite well attended. Mrs. Lnlu Keader, of Lansing.is visiting her parents, the DeWolfs. Willie Knight, of Hamburg, called on W. Wilson's family Sunday. Miss Ida Henry, of St. Johns, is visitiug relatives of this place. Rev. Hicks gave a temperance sermoii Sunday eveniag which was fine. Miss Francés Moss spent two weeks with her brother, Chas. Moss, of Cbelsea. Daré Dickerson and Mrs. Jane Lemen went to Milford, Sunday, to visit friends. School commenced Monday, Sept. 7, in District No. 1, with Miss Lillie Digby, of Salem, as teacher. Frank Taylor left here yesterday for Galveston, Texas. The young people of the place will miss Frank, yet we all wish hirn success and a safe journey.
