Vincennes, Ind., Sept. 15. - Freelandsville, in Knox county, was gutted by flre Tuesday morning. The loss so far will reach $100,000, the heaviest known in the history of the town. Warehouses and frame stores were destroyed and almost the entire business portion wiped out. The fire department was unable to cope with the conflagration on account of lack of water. A strong wind. which had been blowing all morning:, fanned the flames. The cause of the fire is unknown. Several families have been burned out. At 12 o'clock the fire was still raging, and it was feared unless the wind died down the entire town .would go.
