The head was in a well-preserved state, and the 'coroner and detectives have been using every effort to earn the identity of the man and locate the murderer. These officials have traced a decided resemblance of the features to those of Parry Lee Downs, a defaulter from Baltimore, whose picture and description has been in the nands of the pĆ³lice authorities for some time. Downs, who was wanted in Baltimore tor swindling some concern thejre of quite a sum of money, and stealing another man's wife, is known to have come to this city. The officials have not positively identified the body as that of Downs, but the head answers the description very closely and communication has been bpened with the Baltimore authorities to secure, if possible, more positive proof.
